Once a week for the next month, take one of your members out to your favorite local coffee shop. (Do your best to get a mix of experience - new members & folks who have been with you for years - but focus on those you think will give you honest answers.)
Ask them these three questions:
If I told you the gym is closing next week, what’s the one thing you’d miss the most & why?
If I told you somebody was opening another CrossFit gym closer to your house than ours, what’s the one thing they’d need to do or offer that would make you consider switching?
If I told you we were going to hire somebody specifically & solely to fill the role of our “Membership Specialist,” what’s the one thing they should focus much of their energy on?
If you listen carefully to their answers, you’ll start to hear whispers of your future.
